Zags have kept more of their top players longer than BYU has. Simple.

Zags have NBA first round picks staying to move up into the lottery the next year. BYU's players leave as soon as Europe will have them. If BYU got one more year out of every player who left early since Jimmer graduated, then BYU would have several more NCAA tournament invites and wins.
