I think it hit its target audience better than a bunch of mostly super conservative dudes on CB think.

But since I’m a dude, I wish they’d given her a better backstory to help us connect emotionally with her.

For example, she could have been a “Rose” character who worked as a mechanic because the guys wouldn’t let her fly. She loved her dad who flew crop dusters, rather than hating him, but other dudes along the way wronged her. Plus a better explanation of how the Kree were training and brainwashing her to be their weapon. Dig into that a little more and how she showed growth and character to figure it out. Don’t just my have an alien dude tell her and she’s all “yeah, I’m all in on what the alien green dude just told me and I’ll take his word to turn on everything I know.”

That alone would have added a great deal, IMO.
