Hes from a different generation of humor
Growing up...he was pretty cutting edge funny. Believe it or not. Things were different back then...the dude pushed silliness boundaries, had massively successful comedy albums.
It was a different time. There was Cosby, then Steve Martin came along..Richard Pryor... Eddie Murphy...all pushing new boundaries.
