Do you use Screen Time on iOS? I don't think history can be deleted if that is enabled.

Screen Time on iOS doesn't keep a full history, but it records time spent in Safari on every domain.

No private browsing if it's enabled I don't think, and can't delete history as tokolosh said.

Actually, it's not just screen time, but you have to enable filters in the content & privacy restrictions section too.

Seriously, get familiar with the screen time functions in iOS 12. You can accomplish most of what 3rd pary apps do
