No it didn't- well, I don't really know, but it didn't seem like it did to me.

Pope left in 2015. The next year 2015-16 maybe showed some better defense of course we had a bunch of returning players. BUT by 2016-17 the defense was so bad that they brought back Heath Schroyer and slowed the offense way down. To say Pope was a bad defensive coach based on that history seems absurd to me.
