I never said any amount of time...
But you’re wrong anyway, and don’t know what you’re talking about, for multiple reasons.

First reason, Max was already a thick well built guy. I’ve been around him several times over the last few years as he coaches at the QBE camps and my son has attended them now for several years, several times per year. Max was already a pretty well built guy, how he looks in that picture is not a huge jump in size from what he has been, certainly not so much that he couldn’t have done it without steroids.

Second of all this is something I know more than a little bit about. My sons are both athletic and both lift weights quite religiously, I also lift although I am not trying to put in mass I do it to be toned with lean muscle. My older son in particular is focused primarily on body building and is working to gain mass. We are naturally lean so gaining mass is not easy for us but he has made some great gains, especially in the last 6 months, and he is not on steroids. He does take supplements, as do I and my younger son, but it is limited to creating mass gainer, pre workout, and protein. My son is not a son large as Max but he isn’t naturally as large either, but he is pretty big and well defined and steroids have nothing to do with it.

Thirdly back in the late 90’s there was a guy by the name of Bill Phillips and he started a supplement company named EAS. He also published a magazine to go along with it an he had the idea to sponsor and promote a body building contest called “Body for Life”. It was open to anyone and all you had to do was take a before and after picture and submit them. The kicker though was you could not take steroids, only basic legal supplements like creatine, which was still fairly new at the time, and if you were s finalist you would be tested to make sure and if they found banned substances you were disqualified from the contest. Also it was a 90 day time period, from the day you began to the day you ended was 90 days and part of the point was to prove people could make a total body transformation in 90 days using over the counter supplements, no steroids, and hard work.

It actually became a big deal, a bit of a craze, with thousands of people entering. If you won you were supposed to get a Ferrari and $500,000.00 of I remember correctly.

Well this actually was a bit more personal for me as a guy that was a friend of mine, he was at the time in his early 50’s, and also subcontracted work from me went all in on the contest. Long story short he won the contest, one of ten winners it turned out, there’s is a movie about it you could probably watch on YouTube or somewhere.

But I watched this guy completely transform his body in 90 days. He wasn’t fat or skinny when he started it, kind of lean but with a small gut, and at the end of 90 days he was ripped and had put on some serious mass, with no steroids. He was tested, as they all were. And the other winners had similar results.

Once again you can watch the movie.

My buddies name is Everett Herbert and he is now in his 70’s and is still very well built and muscular and still does it without steroids.

Anyway you don’t know what you’re talking about if you think it can’t be done without them. In fact I think all of the guys in that picture could get to where they are without steroids. Nine of them is that freaky that they couldn’t. Now I obviously don’t know if they are or aren’t but neither do you and just saying you know it pretty much disqualifies your post from credibility.
