I was at the game and this is clearly the best team I have seen in the past 5 years as well. It is absolutely in sane that they haven't dropped a set all year. Gabi competed really well, but our middles which have been a strength all year were absent from the offensive game. That being said it wouldn't have mattered. Hawaii is that good. I also think they are better than the Long Beach team that won it all last year and brought everybody back.
This team is 3 pieces short of competing with the top teams in the country right now and am not sure we have a setter, opposite or libero to get us over the top in the next two years. Somebody who follows recruiting closer might be able to answer that. I like Gardini and actually think he could have made the difference last year but he does have room to grow.
