It’s not just Madsen we missed out on but a whole host of others....Sam Merrill, Frank Jackson, Jabari Parker (Pope couldn’t bring him to BYU despite a great relationship), Trent Whiting (Later came to BYU), Alex Jensen, Mark Rydalch. I’m sure there are several others I don’t now about.

I respect your opinion a lot, and have enjoyed your updates on BYU basketball practices over the years, but wasn’t Rose considered a great recruiter as well? I think BYU just isn’t going to get the best LDS talent.

Thus, the answer must lie in going overseas like many mid majors have done and bringing in a coach that is great at developing players, (which Pope may be good at as well), AND having better offensive and defensive strategy. As much as I don’t like his personality, I’m looking for another Randy Bennett.
