I doubt the orgs would still be tossing this much money if they didn't believe in the long-term road map. Regardless,
they only care about making money. And supposedly it's done a really good job of that thus far.
Plus, lots of games have 10 year lifespans or longer... Starcraft 2, LOL, DOTA 2, CS:GO, etc.
