What he did to get himself in trouble has absolutely no bearing on
his backing of someone as a coach. Pitino still knows basketball and has won a ton of games. Pulling some poor tactics in recruiting doesn't change anything here. I'm not sure if I understand your question. Why do what? Why promote and up and coming coach? Why not?
