Why do you guys think this is suddenly happening now and didn’t happen in the past?

If I’m the star of the BYU basketball team I don’t know how I wouldn’t look at what Jimmer, Haws, and KC did and want to emulate that path to the pros as opposed to what Mika and Bryant did.

Heck, Jimmer could’ve left after his junior year but because he stayed he became THE BYU basketball legend, the biggest story in college basketball and maybe all sports for a short time, National player of the year, and a lottery pick.

Haws stayed and became the all time scorer and beloved by fans.

KC stayed and made national news by destroying the triple double record.

All ended up not being good enough to play in the NBA and play(ed) internationally, but those guys all helped their chances AND will always be BYU legends.

But these recent guys want to leave early, fade away from BYU stardom, not get drafted, and then end up playing internationally just like the others.
