This said, I kind of agree with you. Paying a 2nd team center 18 million is too much. The starting lineup with him and Gobert together struggles offensively due to poor spacing. Jazz have an option on Favors contract and I assume will be looking to spend that on a scorer/shooter instead, if they can find one that wants to sign here.

All this said, I love Favs and would hate to see him go, but it’s about what’s best for the team. We can resign Udoh as backup center for 1/5 the cost of Favs. Too bad Favs didn’t develop his outside shot more. He’ll be a solid starting center for some team.
