(I'll also ignore the fact that last year the guys at bbq pitstop told me Traegers were junk and kept trying to sell me a Yoder 🙂 )
.. but Traegers are also made in China.
I have nothing against Traeger, but as they have been bought & sold over the past few years their support has gone downhill. I had to jump through hoops a few years ago when my auger motor burned out under warranty. They are not the small company they used to be (that's not a bad thing).
When you call Rec Tec you actually talk to a real person (it might even be the owners). It's still a small company and they still focus on support.
