The offensive players on that list didn't amount to much. Holt had injury issues and was buried on the depth chart. Heaps showed early potential and had his moments but ultimately lost his spot and transferred. Apo also had moments but not to the level you'd expect of a 4-star recruit. Mangum had a stellar Freshman year but never was the same after that - likely due to injury issues and other health aspects. Those are the only 4 consensus 4-star offensive players BYU has had since 2005. In 2002 they signed Scott Young and Jake Kuresa who were both VERY solid OL for them and Ben Olson at QB (5-star) who ended up transferring to UCLA.
Defense, on the other hand, is a completely different story. Van Noy is an NFL player, Craig Bills did great for BYU and even had an NFL shot, Kaufusi was an NFL player, and Fred Warner is also NFL player. Troy Hinds had a bunch of injury issues and never contributed, and Handsome Tanielu was solid but not spectacular. The others are all still on the roster with the chance to contribute (with the exception of Tuifua who just "retired" from football due to injury).
