This is a fact....
Easily the best deal. My sons situation provided us the opportunity to discuss the cost of an education at over a dozen schools this year. We were given in depth breakdowns of exactly how much it costs per year for a student to attend these schools in tuition, books, and fees and believe me BYU was so vastly cheaper to attend that it was pretty much ridiculous.

Now that doesn’t mean it is easy for a kid to afford it without assistance anyway, it’s still many thousands of dollars per year, but BYU’s costs are really a fraction of most other schools provided the student is LDS which of course the vast majority of them are.

Here is an example with approximate numbers and of course this is based on what a full ride scholarship is worth. My sons scholarship is for the university of Hawaii. Between tuition, books, fees, housing, food, and the other things it provides the value is over $80,000 per year based in him being an out of state student.

For BYU the same scholarship is valued in the $20,000 of dollars range, roughly a quarter. And that is because BYU’s costs are so heavily subsidized by the church for lds kids. A BYU education is a ridiculous deal in comparison to almost any other school.
