My favorite country so far is Austria

Beautiful scenery in the west, amazing Vienna in the east, easy to drop down into northern Italy (Venice). Your spending goes way further than it does in neighboring Switzerland. Budapest is a short train ride from Vienna and that was really cool. So is Prague (but I haven't been there yet).
