I get that most overweight people would prefer to not be....overweight.

But to say it's my problem and if you don't like it oh well deal with it or buy a higher end seat is not the proper solution.

The reality is even most people who are not overweight hardly fit in the seats. At 6'4 and 210ish if I don't have an emergency row seat it is misery for me. I also have huge shoulders and take more than my fair share of someone else's chair.

The design is not to accommodate passengers but space. And by space I mean maximize as much as possible to fit as many as possible with little regard to comfort.
