Last month I was on a Southwest flight from Orange County to Sacramento.....
I had arrived at the airport in time to make an earlier flight, so I was the very last person on the plane, and there was exactly one seat left. It was in the very back of the plane between two guys who were wiiiiiiiiiiiiide (not necessarily fat, they were just big, big people) - one was sitting on the aisle, and one was sitting at the window, and their shoulders were touching in the middle seat. Needless to say, they were as unhappy to see that someone had shown up to occupy that last seat as I was to see that this was my only choice.

Anyway, it was only a one hour flight, but it wasn't going to be pleasant for any of us. But these guys could not have tried harder to make it better for me. The guy on the window basically turned himself sideways and flattened himself against the side of the plane, while the other guy just leaned way out into the aisle the entire flight. I sat in the middle and just tried to be small and move as little as possible.

I guess I don't really have a point other than, for an hour, we all tried hard to be very considerate to each other and it worked out. I've been in other situations where large people haven't been considerate, but then, I've been in plenty of flight situations where REGULAR sized people weren't very considerate to those around them.
