The people who flamed me for saying it have good reasons for their opinions I'm sure, but the bottom line is the coach did say it and this series of articles coming out now that essentially say the same thing should prove the point.
Rose can't totally use that as an excuse though. Great leaders are able to build great teams and persuade players to be unselfish. Kerr and Curry are masters of that. I'm sure Dave and his assistants are more bummed than anyone that they weren't able to persuade players to be unselfish.
