I don't think you can strategically position yourself to be a champion. You have to luck into it. Steph Curry was the 8th pick. Who could predict that an 8th pick would lead to a dynasty? The Sixers have multiple top 5 picks, yet they're not any closer to a championship than the Jazz. I think the best approach is to have a strategy but be pragmatic.
