If you will not be planting anything from seed I would even put down a pre emergent covering all the dirt.

Be aware there are two kinds of total vegetation killers. One kind treats the plants and kills anything

Pulling weeds is just pruning weeds; they'll spring back immediately. Gotta use RoundUp.

I recommend round-up, then 2 weeks after cover it with black plastic until...
