BYU and Emery were already justly punished
He of course broke the rules. He also sat out a year, returned the monitory benefits, was divorced, and dealt with depression to the point where he attempted suicide. BYU also self imposed a decrease in mbb scholarships, cooperated fully, and did not impede the investigation by denying what happened. Unfortunately, the punishment imposed by the ncaa does not fit the crime (see UNC punishment where the school was aware and helping in the cheating unlike BYU). Also, what else do you want from Nick Emery? The guy has been to through enough imo. Time for forgiveness and moving on. We don’t need to completely destroy his life.
