experience in their event and/or a coach that has gotten some runners to win championships. Eyestone may be able to coach jumpers, sprinters, etc. on some level, but it's hard to get big talents into the program without a first hand coach. I think Leonard Myles-Mills is still on staff so that helps.
The only way BYU gets big sprinters to come is to recruit internationally. After BYU found success with Frankie Fredericks, the coaches were able to get some elite recruits from Africa to come. BYU has backed off of African recruits and sticking with its recruiting strengths (middle and long distance running)
