C’mon, I doubt the Thai people were glued to their screens. And for those that saw the loss, they probably shrugged their shoulders and said it made sense.

Argentina—ranked about the same as Thailand—couldn’t even beat BYU’s women’s soccer team, and could only beat UVU’s team by a couple of goals. Utah Valley University! A team of mostly Utah high school all-stars!

There is a huge talent disparity here. It’s not the USA’s job to make sure high school-level talent has a respectable showing in the World Cup.
