This reminded me about the secrets to good dutch oven cooking....
I was just commenting on this to my wife earlier today....... There are no real secrets to dutch oven cooking.

Those that are into put on a big show and act like you need to precise control over the amount of coals, placements, time, etc to have it all work. Add in the all the fuss about how to add the ingredients into the actual dutch over and you got yourself a nice cover story.

In essence, a dutch over works pretty much like a crock pot. Not exactly the same but the process is pretty darn similar. Sure there are some little nuances to the recipes and process that can yield slight better results, but you don't need an experienced grand master to have a good dutch over cookout.
