Two of the best players ever, one led to three rings. The other TBD. They also
Got Malone, Payton, Fisher, Fox, Metta World Peace, and Nash. Lots of those didn't pan out, others were solid contributors but, they show that the Lakers are a free agent destination.
Not sure how you can say they haven't been a destination when they just got the best player in the game last year and a top 5 guy today because they are the LA Lakers.
Their location/history isn't everything and it has often led them to rely too heavily on free agency and do more harm than good. But, they certainly are a destination.
