I think his diva attitude was somewhat understandable as a young man, given that he was anointed The Chosen One at age 14 and entered the pros way before he was mature enough to handle that.
But he's 30 years old now, and has never really had any sustained success at any level. Now that he has many years of evidence that he is *NOT* the savior of American soccer, you would think he would ditch the diva persona and start working hard at some point in time, but apparently not.
I was kinda bummed when he ditched Real Salt Lake to go to Europe because he was still showing some promise at that time. Looking back now, it definitely seems like addition by subtraction when he left.
