a few of his pitches. His velocity was up (first time I've seen him hit 99 consistently in a Dodger uniform) and had more movement on his fastball than I have seen all year. His offspeed pitches were pretty unhittable too. Keep putting him in for low leverage situations and if/until he gets right, keep him out of the high leverage situations. Overall, though, last night I walked away a little more optimistic that he may eventually be able to right the ship.
We all remember Brandon Morrow for being a lock down reliever, until he wore out near the end of the World Series, but he had multiple games in July where he only got one out, gave up multiple hits, and runs. His ERA was saved by a strong June and then he locked it down in August and September. I'm on a wait and see with Kelly. If he can place his pitches, he will be nearly unhittable with the stuff he had last night.
