I am married to a South Carolinian. Clemson/USC is bigger than BYU/Utah
This is in part because football in South Carolina is much much bigger than it is in Utah. Nobody in South Carolina has a wife who doesn't know all the rules, strategies and intricacies of football.
BYU/Utah is a little different because of the religious and political conservative/liberal nature of the rivalry.
