at least for me — except in your case, China Fan, where you kind of have to. My wife have shared accounts on everything and this means of course we have to negotiate costs and expenses. As for giving a wife an escape if needed ... couldn't she always just come home to her parents if she needed to?

Really, though, for me, the benefit is my wife pays the bills. I hate that aspect of adulting ... it's so mind-numbingly mundane that I'm glad she keeps up on it for us.
