Yeah, this seems like a terrible idea. Why would fans go to early-season games

when they know if they are in a pennant race late in the season, they won't get to see those games?

Especially in cities as far away as Tampa and Montreal. Maybe if they were splitting between cities that are a little closer, like Tampa and Orlando or something.
