It was our home opener as an independent against Utah and the stadium was rocking. There was special excitement in the air: independence, new song from the band, and fireworks were launched pregame.

The happy, excited feelings from Independence lasted about 10 seconds until Heaps pirouetted in the end zone. Dark, sad times.

I'm for Independence though, but it was a rough start with that Utah beat down. I'd prefer not to remember independence day.
