I shared this in FO yesterday, but I'll share it here as well so more of you can tell me that I'm an awful parent.
Aside from merely watching full episodes of The Office, that son also frequently watches youtube clips of various scenes. Yadda, yadda, yadda, "That's what she said" has become far too common from him.
On Monday, we returned home after spending more than a week in southern california and disneyland in close quarters with each other. It was "That's what she said" here and "that's what she said" there.
It's to the point that we expect a "that's what she said" after key words or phrases are used around him: hard, long, all night, small, I'll hold that for you, that was fast, etc. It's relatively tame so it's not so bad. My wife blames it all on me and that's become the worst of it for me, at least. I've decided to just let it run its course and hope that it flames out eventually.
Unfortunately, however, it's become so routine that even my 5 year-old daughter can predict it and she's started to join in to the point that it's like saying "Bingo!" when someone sees a yellow car.
Do you know how embarrassing it is to have your 5 year-old daughter yell "That's what she said" after someone says "This is tiring" while waiting in a Disneyland line?
I do.
