So, back in the US last week for the 4th, went up to Idaho for most of the week. As I passed thru the Orem house
the night I left, found a handwritten note in my pile of mail from a realtor (evidently stuck it to my front door) that said they had a cash buyer looking for a house like mine and if I wanted to sell.

Interesting, I've posted before about my quandry of having my mother-in-law living in the house in her 'late' years (now 81). And not wanting to put her on the street, but also not wanting to miss the 'sellers' market and sell this house before it all falls down.

Anyway, I'm not sure that the realtor has a 'cash' buyer who is thinking in terms of what I want out of the house in order to entice me to make a quick sale.

It's an early 70s house, within a mile of UVU, just above where Trafalga used to be. 2200sq ft, 5BR, 3bath, kind of a modified split level because it's on the hill. Basement has 2 of the BR and 1 of the bath on the bottom level with the garage, everything else is on upper level. If I were to move in personally, I'd redo the kitchen floor with simulated wood planking, change out the carpets, and an paint. Probably $20K in upgrades.

It's nothing like the mansions people build today, just a simple single family home with room for munchkins. But like I say, to make that decision, I'm not sure I'd take less than $325k. And I'm not sure that is the kind of money a 'cash buyer' really is looking at.
