I agree, I think you should be unable to serve whomever you wish.
For any reason. However due to intolerance and racial segregation in the past its understandable that it is seen as a slippery slope.

I just dont understand why it has to be national news if someone denies service.

While this is I believe treating people with kids gloves, I dont see it as denying religious freedoms. It's basically saying if you offer services, you need to offer them equally.

The unintended consequences of which is some people want to force someone to fo a service that they dont want to do, instead of accepting no, and moving on.

That being said, I think it is old fashioned and bigoted not to want to serve people for secual preferences or other ideas. But I do defend the rights of people to be bigots. As long as they dont try and pass bigoted legislation like no gay marriage, adoption etc.
