tinfoil hatter when I mentioned my experience w/ Ortho hardcore ant killer. We suddenly had hundreds on the master bathroom floor. In a panic, I sprayed that crap on the floor, told wife don't use that bathroom, at least use these slippers and leave them at entrance, don't walk on carpet w/ them. I was baffled to see her walking barefoot on there days later. She thought I was being dramatic. 6 wks later, she gets a tumor growing right side of throat. Surgeon says, gotta take it out.

The day of the surgery, after, I corner him and ask him. "Based on all your experience, do you think it's cancer?" He didn't wanna answer, saying it's no win offering such opinions. Off the record, he said, I'd guess it's 90% lymphoma, identical to everything Ive seen. Longest week of my life, waiting for results, and keeping that under my hat.

Luckily it was benign. 2 years later, another outbreak outside. I use the stuff again, and cordon off area for months. I think the rainy season washed it down beneath the rock wall where my dog likes to throw down. He's fine in Nov, X ray clean. After rain runoff, Feb 1, he's got lungs full of tumors. The Vet was shocked, no explanation.

I mention all this for two reasons. Those are some very odd coincidences re; "safe" ant and bug killer. Had another breakout this year, used ash. I'd read wood ash, but all I had was charcoal ash. Holy crap, the barrier, 1 inch wide maybe, stopped a major infiltration, and literally turned em away. The toxic stuff would kill em, but they'd always be back. Ash, so far, have not had one ant come inside. So, long winded, but think twice about using the hardcore bug stuff that's "100% safe." Other ways to handle it.
