I use the Echo in the kitchen to play music when I’m cooking dinner or something. I also just open the window it’s by and I get music on the patio since I’ve been to lazy to wire the backyard with speakers.

The dot in the bedroom I use mostly as an alarm clock.

The dot downstairs gets used mostly to add things to my shopping list when I get reminded I’m out of something by seeing a commercial.

The dots absolutely suck as a speaker so I wouldn’t use them for music much. The bigger Echo is okay but not great as a speaker.

I think your idea of having an intercom system with them is a good one.

They don’t have a ton of function for me but they’re really cheap so it doesn’t matter. I forget I have them sometimes.
