Most amazing thing I remember about Bonds

was him saying the BALCO "clear" made his eyes feel stronger. The muscles that controlled his eyes actually felt stronger and allowed him to track the pitch longer.

I talked to a Bay Area sports reporter back in the 90s who was covering both the A's and Giants at the time. I asked him if he thought steroids instead of the juiced ball theory were responsible for all the home runs. He said he did and that he had a source that most of the steroids were coming up through Mexico. He had asked his paper to make a trip down to investigate and got denied. He also said that Bonds still had kind of spindly legs and narrow hips in 1998 - the year McGwire hit 70. Bonds came back the next season for Spring Training and the reporter said Bonds looked like a middle linebacker with massive thighs, hips, shoulders, and back. And speaking of backs, he said Bonds back was covered in acne just like McGwire's. He knew they were all juicing. This was before BALCO broke.

Bonds hitting 73 home runs at age 36 was a mockery of the game. All these guys made a joke out of baseball. I don't know how long it has been going on or what can be done about PEDS today. It is sad that every time I hear about Mike Trout is doing this or so-and-so is doing that, I think PEDS.
