It depends on the consumer
The more you want your content divided up by channel, show, or episode, the more you’ll be charged. For those who truly just watch one or two channels, a la carte saves them a ton. Also, for those who used to watch a lot but use a la carte as a means to force themselves to live with less, it works well.

For those whose households have diverse entertainment interests and aren’t willing to cut back, they should just stick with cable/satellite.

My personal opinion is that many people have become obsessed with TV shows or with pop culture in general. I think many should cut back and realize how little joy 90% of those shows actually bring them.
