The storytelling was superb, and all the powerful quotes and scenes were perfectly timed and extremely well-acted. Not easy to do in a comic book movie.

I also loved the Dark Knight, only slightly less than Batman Begins.

But I do think that the third installment was a significant step down in overall quality. Not that I blame them - they essentially had to start from scratch after Heath Ledger died - but it just didn't seem as compelling as the first two movies, IMO.
