Even when planners get it right, it can’t keep up in some locations.
See Dallas/Ft. Worth as an example.
I actually used to feel the same way, and yes, they could have done a much better job. However, SLC doesn’t have the same traffic as other areas and it doesn’t come close to being as congested as most of the metro areas I’ve been. You want to see a worse metro are similar in size to SLC, see Portland as an example. It’s miserable almost all times of the day, and they aren’t doing anything to try and fix it.
