He talks great, but what he said specifically that makes me feel even better about him is 1) he is singling out who he
wants to work extra reps with. That means he knows how important connection to his receivers is. How much that understanding of one another within the play and ability to anticipate matters. I’m sure he’ll extend that understanding to other players in order of priority.

Sounds like he learned some of this by necessity because he can’t just throw harder to make things work. But that’s ok, because anticipation/timing is more valuable. If he had to take the strength down a notch to learn this well, it would be worth it.

But that leads to my favorite thing I saw in the video: Amy loss of armstrength was irrelevant in the passes he made. There were no underthrown jump balls (and yes, I know what a back shoulder throw looks like). For years it seems like a majority of great completions were not from great throws. They were underthrown and receivers made great plays.

Rather than his completions being either on or underthrown (where a DB can breakup, INT, or tackle immediately on a catch) like they’ve been lately, they are in stride or a tiny bit long. Where only the receiver has a chance. They referred to this a little in talking about throwing people open. It’s happening because of his anticipation and accuracy and shows that his armstrength is not an issue. Don’t know about stamina yet.
