We let people have their garment collars hang out, or wear horrible looking cargo shorts, or be fat and out of shape in general. We don’t police those things, even though the BYU student body would look better and more professional if they were all cleaned up.

If BYU changes the beard policy, some students will have atrocious beards. Just like some students currently present themselves horribly. Who cares.
