I have been waiting and dreaming of the day when BYU would develop a royal blue away uniform combo. Royal blue pants, white jersey, royal blue numbers, white helmet, royal blue face mask and decal stickers - it is important to understand that the facemask and “Y” decal are to be solid royal blue - not shiny or fancy, or metallic, or chrome, just OG royal blue.

This look has always been my favorite, I remember watching BYU on tv for the first time. I was instantly fascinated and in love with that cougar visitor uniform...to this day it’s still my favorite. My favorite part is the oval royal blue Y decal. It’s so iconic. Especially when it’s royal blue.

This month, my dreams came true when BYU announced that we would be wearing royal blue unis 7 TIMES this year and that BYU would have away Unis. Guys....my little boy heart. It’s overflowing with joy for days now During a period of my life that has been pretty discouraging.

Then? Heart break.

Today I saw an image of the away mock up that I posted above and ....

I just about started to cry.

Why would BYU ever put anything other than that iconic and legendary traditional Y logo on their helmet? I actually have no problem with the sailor coug logo but I do when it replaces the legendary icon that has been the face of our program for so so long.

Is this confirmed? Is this really going to happen? Will it be on our helmet every game this year or just the white out? I could stomach it for just the white out. No problem. But for every game?

Please tell me this is not true.
