That's a great mindset when you control the outcome. I have that mindset, too,
when I am a competitor in some event. As fans, I feel like it wouldn't be healthy to get that wound up in something that is utterly beyond our control.
I very much want to see BYU win (and especially to see them beat Utah). But there is literally nothing I can do to affect the outcome of the games. There is nothing that I can take away from a loss that will help the team win next time. So IMO the best approach is to cheer our team on enthusiastically leading up to and during the games, bask in the glory of the wins, and shrug off the losses.
