This year the hope/goal is the Rose Bowl or higher

BYU has no effect on the Rose Bowl. Since you are automatically giving us a loss, the effects on a playoff appearance don't change. So I would take the loss to BYU. I would love nothing more than to add a Rose Bowl trip to my Sugar and Fiesta Bowl trips.
