Watching the Braves Dodgers game tonight, they called a Dodger player out on a
strike 3 that was 6 inches off the plate. Ridiculous. Next batter goes down with 2 strikes, ball is in the strike zone and he calls it a ball. Dodgers announcers pipe up that he isn't having a great night behind the plate.

The issue I have with that, is this year more than most, I'm hearing announcers comment on how the umpire has inconsistent zones. It seems to happen at least once, every series.

I'm ok with him just flat out missing a call because it takes a bad angle or whatever. He can comment later that he just missed it. What bothers me most is when it is in the zone and not called. It frustrated me that the Dodger batter was rung up for a ball well off the plate, but because he didn't even object a little, it was tolerable. Seeing the next batter get away with a ball that was a definite strike frustrated me. Even if it did "work its way out" between the two. Missing an obvious strike call is incredibly frustrating, even if it works to my teams benefit.
