I've been on more than one safari where animals have been aggravated
by tourists and animals have charged vehicles. Getting a vehicle with a lot of windows (with a roof) is sufficient for safety and pictures.

The animals don't really see individual people in the Jeep/Cruiser. They just see a big thing...
