We were visiting the couple missionaries up by Richards Bay South Africa and had some time to kill. We ended up in one of the game parks nearby. We rounded a turn and there was what looked like a warthog in the middle of the road with its nose buried in a big pile of dung. As we kept coming around the curve we saw the back side of something huge that turned out to be a rhino. The supposed warthog was its baby.

Unfortunately we were much closer to the baby rhino that its mama was. Mama turned around to face us displaying a very long horn. It started to freak out a bit and was preparing to charge us when the baby took its head out of the dung, looked at us, and then ran the opposite way past its mom. Mom looked at us trying to decide what to do and then took off after her kid. Being super brilliant missionaries we followed them up the road for a half mile until they left the road and disappeared into the bush.

On the same excursion we happened upon a leopard sitting in the middle of the road. It took off into the bush as we approached. My comp was sitting on the window sill of the door with his hands on the roof and half his body hanging out. When we got to where they leopard took off into the bush he turned to look but failed to spot the leopard literally hiding behind some weeds six feet away. I spotted it and had him get back into the car very slowly.
