My parents are from the Big Island and I frequent the area often, and the Village is about 8 miles up from the big resorts, so it's a bit cheaper than what you'd find at the coast. My parents have a condo there so I know the area well, and know there are properties like The Greens that are decent. Plus if it were me, the best beaches on the Big Island are on the Kohala Coast and that's a good place to be to get to other scenic places as well. Waikoloa Village already has a grocery store - strip mall area and is getting another one right now, plus is close to the other big resorts that offer some shopping as well. Just a thought. Feel free to message for any other details.
